Kendall Smith’s foray into the writing world began with his self-published debut novel Double-Edged Justice in 2007. His experience sharpened his perspective on the business and craft itself. After a brief stint as a political-satire blogger, he returned to his roots with a focus on writing novels within the thriller and mystery genre.

The road to publishing Vault 21-12, and Kendall’s involvement with Percussion Publishing, represented a three-year process. The lessons he garnered while publishing his first novel were put to use for his second, which involved several critiques by noteworthy editors and rewrites. The result is a story centered on an international thriller that crosses generations, and one that is sure to intrigue readers as they follow the trail within the story that leads to the secret Swiss vault.

His role at Percussion Publishing requires a number of skills he's procured in his professional life, where he is employed as a video-network professional. The collaboration he brings, coupled with strong credentials that relate to media, publishing and digital communication, provide the kind of foundation Percussion was looking for in an author.

“What I find most appealing in regards to Percussion Publishing is the opportunity to work with other authors directly, to share strategies, ideate on tactics and to freely support one another. I believe this represents a true distinction compared to other publishing houses. We can learn in real time what is and is not effective. The market is changing too fast for authors to let their fate ride exclusively on others to manage their business.”

Kendall has two projects slated for 2016 and he writes early in the morning prior to the start of his professional day job. He lives in Ridgewood, New Jersey with his wife Allison and son Connor, who is a handful, according to the author. He is an active member in the New York music scene and is an avid fan of tennis, scuba diving and world travel. Destinations featured in Vault 21-12 represent ports of call during his world travels, and he has visited over thirty countries.

Presley E. Acuna

PRESLEY E. ACUNA writes unconventional thrillers, based in reality, but which take unexpected turns into the realms of fantasy, magical realism, science fiction and horror. His aim, with every project, is to engage the reader in an engrossing mystery or adventure, while simultaneously using the situation to explore the deeper meanings of the ideas behind the story.   When he is not writing, he is working as a systems engineer on the dot com frontier.  He is also a musician, and formerly a member of the Supertones.  He is a born and raised New Yorker, currently living in Brooklyn, but he also enjoys spending time at his cabin, deep in the woods of western Massachusetts, with his wife and the host of critters that always manage to find their way into the house.
